Hi, you're welcome! We didn't go back to Oran. From Ghardaia, we flew to Constantine (via Algiers). To get to Oran from Algiers in the first place, you can just easily take a share taxi.

Hi! Thanks for the great guide! Lots of good info for our trip in April.

Did you fly back to Oran from Ghardaia or somewhere else? And how did you get to Constantine?

Thanks! Don't give up - the visa process is apparently getting less tedious all the time and I do think there are big variations in the tediousness depending on where you apply. We've been to Morocco but honestly so long ago it's hard to say. Yes, Algeria is waaaaaay less touristed - and I guess it goes together with that but I feel like in Algeria it was easier to see people just going about their regular life, without all that tourist-crush in the way like you get in Morocco.

Fascinating and very informative post, thank you. Algeria has been on my list for ages, but I didn't realise how tedious and bureaucratic the visa process is. Hmmmmm... I guess this means it's not likely to move up the list particularly soon.

Have you been to Morocco, by any chance? And if so, how similar/different is Algeria (besides being much less touristed)?

Hi! The bathroom in our room there was perfectly clean, very basic. And so small as to be a bit awkward, but still fine to use. I didn't see the others at the same place.
