You’ll find Georgia at the crossroads of Asia and Europe, in the foothills of the Caucasus. Suddenly everybody’s going to Georgia, now famous for generous hospitality, wine, delicious national cuisine, and of course, breathtaking scenery.

And then there’s Abkhazia, the country that never was. Abkhazia broke away from Georgia and proclaimed independence after the collapse of the Soviet Union and a war in the 90s. Today the tiny republic is recognised only by Russia and a few other nations.
